Evangalical, existentialist and weird all at once.
The L4M3 is an experimental bedroom pop project exploring themes of faith with philosophy and counterculture. The project is a collaboration between two opposite siblings.
The Seeker (vocalist/guitarist/musical direction) had a background visiting his art/attitude mentor Rob Equiza's gigs when he was 17 and has also known some punk rockers before he even started attending gigs. He learned how to write melodies by participating in the school choir for a couple years and also started loving philosophy because of his social studies teacher back in 10th grade. But at the same time he has always had a counterculture soul and also a love for superheroes and working out like one. His influences include Brian Eno, Paul McCartney, The Velvet Underground, and the New York "no wave" avant-garde scene, but he has also love for Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Deftones and a bit of the ethnic Filipino music that he finds online.
Belle (keyboard, vocals, art direction),had taken piano and vocal lessons as a kid. She had continued singing as a hobby through the school choir. Later on, it manifested through karaoke and leisurely moments. She might be a typical girl who loves Taylor Swift and K-Pop but a side of her listens to Avril Lavigne, Billy Joel, Sunset Rollercoaster, and a lot of indie pop. In short, Belle is moody when it comes to music.
Their non-musical influences on the other hand include philosophy, faith and superheroes. This is the point of The L4M3 in the first place: to promote a new, countercultural breed of faith-centred music. The project is also inspired by Gorillaz in terms of universe-building.
