The Ballsbreakers is an indie rock band from Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, Philippines, formed in the summer of 2018. They focus primarily on making original music.
In 2018, The Ballsbreakers released their debut album, "Songs For Fredo", a 12 - song, all - original opus recorded at their home studio in Mahayahay, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
The band has also released a handful of other original singles (most of which are available on YouTube and on their Facebook page).
In October, 2022, The Ballsbreakers released their second album, "Life In The Tundra", comprising 17 original songs. Like before, they recorded most of the songs at La Cocina, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.
Both albums - "Songs For Fredo" and "Life in the Tundra" - are available for streaming here on Spotify. They are also being distributed in CD format.
The Ballsbreakers have undergone numerous lineup changes over the years, with the only constant presence being songwriter M. Dodge Benigian II (guitar, vocals) . M. Dodge currently performs and records with a session bassist and drummer.
Their music spans rock n' roll and the blues to grunge and modern folk, drawing from such influences as Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Modest Mouse, Dinosaur Jr., Skip James, Robert Johnson, among many others. They are also into jazz and classical music, having cited Bach, Mozart and Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Theolonious Monk and Charles Mingus as influences.
