Rob Equiza is a Filipino musical artist who writes, records, and produces his own music. Since 2006, he has released music in various genres such as rock, alternative, folk, electronic, and film score.
Initially fronting the rock bands Freeradio & Poor Dead Rats, Equiza started his solo act with sessionists and collaborators in 2018. The 14-track compilation album Meandering Paths containing singles, b-sides, & EP from 2018 through 2020 was released on CD in 2021 - filled with a diverse set of music he made either by himself or with fellow musician friends.
In December 2022, he released his first official album Refugees, with songs drawn from different life experiences about hope, existentialism, compassion, and justice. CDs & USB Cards of the album were distributed in Taiwan, the United States, and his home country Philippines.
From January through November of 2023, to promote Refugees, Rob toured the Philippines playing 25 shows scattered across 14 cities, 8 regions, and 9 provinces. He was joined by his constant bassist/collaborator Jarell, and sessionist friends Project Spart, Steve of Lotus Project, Doi & Kiko of Freeradio, Pogs of Acacia Juice, and Jommel of Slowdough.
The Last Tier, a companion & continuation EP for Refugees was released on February 2024. And by the end of the year, a series of singles are lined-up to be released.
